This policy explains how ONLINETSTUTOR LTD (company number 17348423, “TutorOnlines”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses personal information when you use tutoronlines.com and our tutoring platform.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

2. Information we collect

  • Account and profile information, such as name, email address, account identifier, photograph, biography, teaching subjects and qualifications.
  • Booking and lesson information, such as the tutor or student involved, lesson subject, scheduled time, attendance and messages exchanged through the platform.
  • Payment and transaction information, such as amount, currency, payment status and payment reference. Card and wallet details are processed by our payment providers and are not stored by TutorOnlines.
  • Technical and usage information, including device, browser, pages viewed and diagnostic information used to operate and improve the service.
  • Information supplied in tutor applications, support requests or reviews.

3. How and why we use information

  • To create and administer accounts, deliver bookings and process payments. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To maintain platform security, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and improve reliability. This is necessary for our legitimate interests in running a safe service.
  • To meet legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.
  • Where required, to use optional technologies or send communications on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Who receives information

We share information only where needed to run the platform, including with:

  • the student and tutor involved in a booking;
  • Clerk, which provides account authentication;
  • Revolut and Stripe, which provide payment processing;
  • Vercel, which hosts the website and provides analytics and technical services; and
  • Resend, which delivers transactional emails.

These providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards made available by the relevant provider and applicable data-protection law.

5. How long we keep information

We keep account, profile and booking information while an account is active and for up to 12 months after closure, unless we need it longer for a dispute, safeguarding matter or legal obligation. Payment and accounting records are normally retained for six years where required by law.

6. Children and safeguarding

TutorOnlines is designed for adults. A person under 18 may use the platform only with the supervision of their parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for the account and for ensuring that the information provided about a child is accurate and appropriate.

7. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to access, correct, erase, restrict or transfer your personal information, or object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the email above. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we handle your information.
